Checking Your Tire Size
You need to get new tires but how do you check your vehicle's tire size?
This information can be found on driver's side door, on the placard. This is usually found on the inside of the door jamb.
The placard has lots of valuable information. It will include your stock tire size. The stock size of your tire is the size your vehicle came with from the manufacturer. If you have purchased new rims or tires, the ones you currently have on your vehicle may be different than the stock set it originally came with.
The tire size can also be found on the tire! It will be in large letters and numbers on the side of your tire. The tire size will usually start with a P or LT. Example: P225/60R16
Maintaining proper air pressure is important for tire warranty, fuel economy and your tire's life expectancy. This information is also found on the placard, located on your door jamb.
The best way to store your tires is to keep them in a dry, cool place and out of the sun.
You'll know it's time to put your winter tires on when the weather reaches 7 degrees celsius. Don't wait too long to put them on though.
